WHAT IS THE NORM?

WHAT IS THE NORM?

download

Its been a struggle and living like i have two worlds within me is not so easy and not the best thing ever. This is because at times one wants to overpower the other and just come out shouting and screaming and being all up in your face. Well i was once told that i am an ambivert , that basically means that i am an introvert and extrovert , which is definitely true because at times i am defined as  “i am the life of the party” and this is honestly and incredibly true , while at times i am the one that will seat at a corner and interact with no one but myself and i am comfortable with both personas within me. It’s disturbing how the society will try to define me by this and try to enhance my wavelength and make me try to conform to what they would consider the norm. This brings me to thinking what is the norm?

Being in the new age and the 21st Century everyone wants to define norm or normal. What people are doing in today’s society is breaking the bonds of what those in the past considered norms. Everything from physical appearance to sexual orientation to the boom of surrogacy and open relationships.

People have long tried to change what others have always considered as the norms, a look today would be the most talked about gender transition of Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner.

With Kim Kardashian ever pushing the envelope on what is defined as sexy or being a woman and how she has been able to push the boundaries. Back to Caitlyn Jenner, she was a 60 year old man that felt out of the norm by saying that he felt that he was living a life that isn’t his or hers. ( i am still confused on the gender article to use). Kindly get that i don’t , and i repeat  i DON’T want to be a woman or undergo transgender , this is just an illustration on how normal is defined differently by different people.

In my case i think my biggest struggle would be that i am 21 years old and find that some of the things that may be considered to be the norm to 21 year old’s may not necessarily apply to me. Like going out clubbing every weekend Thursday to Sunday. I lack that. I lack the urge to be and fight for popularity on social media, yes i want to be noticed but i don’t make it the bane of my very existence. It might work and be the norm for others but not for me.

On that note, i was watching a show The New Normal, that featured Nene Leakes who i love hunnay. (In heavy Atlanta accent). its a good watch but i think it was cancelled.

new-normal

I highly recommend it due to its story line. On that note i need to do a post about Reality Shows child.
